so for soccer we had states this weekend. there was a lot of physics involved. for example, blaine scored three times against mililani in the semifinals. blaine's first goal was a low rip into the goal. the velocity on the ball was so high that the goalie could not dive to the ground fast enough to block it. the goalie accelerated downward at 9.8 m/s squared, so the ball must have been traveling really really really fast. really. Blaine's second goal was a high rip to the right upper v. it was about a minute after mililani scored their first goal. yay! the net force applied to the ball must have been in the direction of the right upper v.
