My little sister printed this piece of paper for one of her homework assignments. She's young and she thought it would be cool to print the assignment in different color texts (which it is). When i saw it come out of the printer i remembered what we talked about. The printer uses ink to 'color by subtraction' and make the different colors. It combines yellow, cyan, and magenta ink to form the black, uses the yellow ink as it is, combines yellow and magenta ink to form the red ink, and combines the yellow and cyan ink to form green. The black ink absorbs all light, the red ink absorbs everything but red light, the yellow absorbs blue light but reflects red and green light, and the green ink absorbs everything but green light.

On saturday i played a soccer game at kapiolani park. During one play, i was dribbling down the field toward the goal. There were two defenders between me and the goal, but i wasn't scared. I promptly lost the ball and the other team launched a counter attack. Apparently, a teammate of mine was wide open across the field and he would have easily scored had i played him the ball. The reason i couldn't hear him calling for the ball was because of the jammin hawaiians concert that was going on at the shell. It was so loud in there it drowned out anything we said to each other across the field. The sound waves emitted by the concert drowned out our speaking because of its massive amplitude. The concert sounds did not, however, block our voices. This is not possible, as waves pass through each other unaffected. It was just too loud.

I'm the brown guy. I went to the beach this weekend and there was a guy doing gainers into the water at china walls. He sprinted forward toward the edge of the wall, and jumped outward and forward while at the same time generating a backward torque to rotate his body backward, while moving forward into the water. It was pretty cool. He jumps outward and while hes in the air he pulls his knees to his chest to begin the backward rotation. Then he lands in the water and the water exerts a force on him to stop the downward motion. This force results in a change in momentum , constituting an impulse. Since it takes so much time for him to stop moving downward in the water, the force is proportionally small.
